Rights: The Permit Reserved for Artisanal Miners (PREA) grants its holder, within the perimeter specified and during its validity, the exclusive right to carry out prospecting, exploration, and exploitation of the minerals for which the mining permit was issued, using artisanal techniques and employing light mechanical equipment as listed in the regulations.
Eligible Person: Only natural persons of Malagasy nationality and legally created groups of individuals of Malagasy nationality
Maximum quota per holder: 128 squares or 50 km²
Validity Period: Eight (08) years, renewable twice for a duration of four (04) years for each renewal
Environmental Obligation: Environmental Commitment Plan or Environmental Impact Assessment if in a sensitive area.
Sale of Production: Authorized
Evolution: Renewal subject to approval of a report justifying the exploitable deposit.
